Cinnamon

                                  Cinnamon                          Mitchell Rossi

As I relax and read a book by the fire, my cat is sleeping sound asleep on her favorite chair, a sudden scream of wolves were howling the nightly moonsong routine as they howl every night at nine-o-clock. My cat, Cinnamon, immediately jumps up in a fright and runs under the new couch. The wolves usually stop around eleven and Cinnamon comes out from under the couch and goes back to her chair.

I bought her a new cat toy to play with as she bites her teeth in deep. My friends Ryan and Maddie come over for a nice cup of tea. Ryan likes to play with fire; he keeps saying

When can I lite up the fire place?”

I mention NO every time but he still doesn’t shut up.

Maddie sits there drinking beer now instead of tea. Now Ryan is trying to find the lighter in the kitchen.

“Screw this” he yells and throws his tea cup across the room. He will never find the lighter because it is hidden in my wall safe.

“Sit the hell down you piece of crap and have some manners,” Maddie says.

I mentioned that yesterday when I was at the mall. The mall was in music spirit as it played famous songs. Ryan interrupts me if he can lite the fire now.

“Yes you can the wood is already in the fireplace ready to go, so just crumple up a few sheets of paper and liter up,” I said.

Maddie and I are not facing the fireplace in the living room as we trust Ryan would be responsible for lighting it safely.

Within seconds there was a nice warm heat in the house, then it was starting to get too warm. I turned around discovering my wall was on fire.

“You son of a gun!” I yelled. We ran outside in a hurry calling 911, completely forgetting three week old cinnamon.

            “Chute my cinnamon,” I yelled.

I ran back in not seeing a thing, the fire had destroyed the living room and the kitchen. I knew cinnamon wouldn’t be under the couch. So I thought there must be one area where she could be: By the side door where I let her out to play. I walked over and there she was cuddled up in the corner scared, I grabbed her and turned around realizing the front door was no longer an option. I couldn’t go out the side door; it was blocked with fire wood.

I jumped out the bathroom window realizing Ryan forgot to flush the toilet. Cinnamon and I landed face first in the garden for a soft landing. The fire department arrived and began spraying the house.

We all stayed in city dump as all our money was burned.

“How many papers did you put in the fire place?” I asked Ryan.

“47.9 sheets of the Western,” he replied.

“What the hell is wrong with you? You burned my house down; you forgot to flush the toilet.”

Ryan had one word to say and one word only.

“Oops!”

Death of a Salesman

Mitchell Rossi             Journal #1: Quotation                        Eng. 11 7/8

“I’ll take you to a place I know”. 1949 pg. 66. What a fantastic line that relates to the world famous movie Anchorman, The Legend of Ron Burgundy. This film by Adam McKay tells the story of the channel four news station and its crew. Also how they act behind the scenes and on the camera. When Legend Ron Burgundy meets the new Co-Anchor Veronica Corningstone as she gets a job at the station, they immediately fall in love with each other. Ron takes Veronica on a very romantic date around San Diego.
Later takes her to her house as they make out and get in bed. Veronica says to Ron take me to pleasure town, he says oh were going there. So this is why I chose this quote “I’ll take you to a place I know” reminded me of the quote “take me to pleasure town” in the movie. This story Death of a Salesman was an old but yet very interesting book. Now, Willy was a mean man losing his mind, but let me tell you something. Willy wants Biffy get off his bus and get a job.
Biff and Happy are not capable enough to get a job in the city. This story relates kind of like Anchorman. How Ron Burgundy is so lazy by lifting weights in his office and drinks scotch on the job. Both of these stories have different story lines. They’re also classics and remembered still to this day. Both stories connect in different ways and different quotes.

Mitchell Rossi      Every Art Piece Tells a Story     Apr 25 2014

As the bright yellow sun shone like a jewel in big blue sky, coming with a few clouds as Sun FM mornings with Randy and Mare said these clouds could bring in a 46.7% chance of showers. Off from school as we head down to the Art Gallery. The school is a great place to learn, but it’s ok to leave it behind for a bit and take learning to the outdoors. On our walk down Ellis Street, I immediately turned on my IPod to “Dancing Queen” by “ABBA” then “Take on me” by “Ah-Ha”. Having great conversations and seeing the flowers start to bloom as spring comes around. As birds fly and sing and Ellis River flows it reminds me what a beautiful city we live in.

Ellis Street is named after Tom Ellis, same as Vancouver Street and Van Horne, and much more. Penticton has a lot of history for a one hundred and nine year old city. The art gallery has some fantastic art pieces, objects, everything tells a story, has a message or connection. The walk had plenty of drivers going about on their daily commute. Also plenty of parked vehicles standing on all four wheels. As ducks were sleeping and birds chirping, nothing much changes in this city.

Entering the famous art gallery had the theme was bullying. Talking about bullying bugs me because I find it sad to hear about. If I ever see bullying happen in school to others or myself I immediately tell someone I trust, a teacher, counselor, and parent. I don’t put up with bullying, it’s unacceptable. The art gallery had a few interesting pieces. When you enter the doors the first thing you see is baseball bats with awful words on them like name calling.

There are too many art pieces to look at in such little time. Quite a few pieces stood out with messages. You didn’t even need to figure out what the messages were trying to get out. Other pieces took some time to discover their messages.  One stood out to everybody, three bathroom stalls with writing all over them for other people to see. There were some bad words and bullying messages. The piece of art that I chose was called love. This water painting stood out to me, it was a man and blue painting on one side of the picture, and the other side was a girl and pink. Both were on top of a planet in space.

If this artist wants the person to connect to the art piece, or see a message. The message would be two people finding each other and there two different worlds are connecting into one. He trip was interesting, every object or paining of art out there has a message or connection. The weather was beautiful as the sun brought warmth and lifts up your spirits every day. Art is a talent, a hobby, and even a job. Everyone has different talents and hobbies; everyone can be good at these different talents. You just have to find them.

10 Things I Hate About You Essay #4

The elements of rising action create suspense in the story of 10 Things I Hate About You. A story of fitting in, making friends, and dating. The story goes as two sisters. The younger sister Bianca thinks the world revolves around her. She is very popular and wants to date boys. But she’s not allowed dating boys until her older sister Kat dates. But Kat doesn’t like to date boys, so Bianca is upset at Kat.

The person that everyone hates is Kat, she has few friends, used to be popular now not. A young boy named Cameron comes along to ask a tall muscular man named Patrick offering him money to try to date Kat so then Cameron can date Bianca. Now Kat isn’t interested in dating Patrick, but Patrick is interested in dating. Not just because he got offered a couple hundred dollars, but because he actually does want to date her.

Eventually Kat says yes to date, and goes to Prom with Patrick, so now Cameron can ask out Bianca, which goes alright and he hanged out a little bit with Bianca at Prom. But another guy named Joey steps in the dance with Bianca so Cameron steps back in and Joey punches Cameron in the face. Bianca kicks Joey and hangs out with Cameron. Cameron drives Bianca home and he gets a kiss.

When Kat finds out that Patrick got paid to take her out, she immediately left him. It took a few days for Kat to listen to Patrick saying that he didn’t care about the money to date her so then Cameron can date Bianca. He actually does like her. They get back together and Cameron dates Bianca.

Protest Poem

Protest Poem

The ocean ecosystem is dying
There are plenty of ecosystems in the sea
When we throw garbage in the oceans we pollute it.
The ocean is a fragile flower

Our water is important on Earth
For us, animals, and ecosystems
Our garbage should be delt with responsibly
It's time to make a change in the way we treat our garbage

I believe that everyone can make a difference
Take responsibility for their actions with garbage, don't litter.
Be nice to the environment, as it is nice to you.

Be nice to the ecosystem. When you drop garbage on the ground,
animals think it is food, deer can eat a lot, be nice to the deer.
Put your garbage in the garbage,
then have a beer.

Ode to Baxter

ODE to Baxter
To Ron Burgundy’s dog Baxter
You are a dog that likes to run
You have a lot of fun
You poop in the refrigerator

You eat a whole wheel of cheese
Your master is Ron Burgundy
The king of all news
You love him dearly

You put up with a lot of Ron’s bull crap
You can talk to Ron like a human
You are a dog with lots of heart
You also like art

You will fight bears and sharks to protect Ron
And you still puts up with Ron’s bull crap
You wear pajamas in bed
And a puppy retainer

You like smoothies and beer
But you won’t fight a deer.
You are a legend with no fear
Then Jack black came along

Fear came to you
When you got kicked off a bridge
You like human food and beverages
But you don’t like veronica Corningstone

Although You put up with bull crap
You still poop in the refrigerator.
You are a dog of love
With lots of respect

You don’t like to get pissed off
You’ll bite a hand off.

Oh Yeah Bad poem

Oh yeah, oo ooh ooh, hoo yeah, ho ho ho, oh oh oh, yeah oh, yeah ho, yeah

I hate writing poetry
Let me out
It’s always in everyday life
I’ll scream and shout

It’s not just words
Don’t piss me off
Its numbers to
I’ll rip your nose off

Poetry is awful
You better start running
I hate it so much
Or the moon will be coming

I scream any day of the week
I slither like a snake
I like to party on weekends
And swim in a lake

I love honey in my tea
I have a beautiful cat
Honey is very sweet
That wears an outstanding hat

My face is great
One time I bat
I like to eat resses buttercups
That was really really fat

I like mittens cause their easy to put on
I was bored so I dug a hole
I will never love poetry
When I discovered a mole

It doesn’t touch my heart
Later I drank juice from a mug
Poetry breaks my heart
While I was giving my cat a great hug

Some people say it’s wonderful
My cat then saw a bug
Poetry is boring
But had no fear and ate on the rug

Poetry is a wast of time
I was so thirsty I had a can of beer
Peotry can really confuse people
Then I was hungry so I shot a deer

How can it confuse people
Then I shead a tear
I don’t know
And screamed with fear

Identity (philosophy)

My Outstanding Identity

I find myself very funny
Even though I act like such a bunny
I like watching the stars at night
As it is such a beautiful sight

I have a beautiful cat
That wears an outstanding hat
I love my incredible home
But it’s shaped like a dome

I am a smart, kind, and gentle man
When it’s hot out, I need a fan
Life is good when you go with the flow
But you never know when the wind gust will blow

Taking you away to some place new
Meeting new people and travel the world.
Not knowing where you will end up tomorrow.

Relationship

The Moon

As a sunny day

Turns to dusk

A full moon

 Can really mess us up

Not just affecting animals

And humans too.

It is true

The Magnetic field can really screw with you

As gravitational pull takes over earth for the night

You got nowhere to run in sight

The moon can play with your mind

But, control your actions

Or police will come for a fight

Try to relax on this big bright night

Or your mind will go insane with fright

Don’t scream and eat ice cream

Or your mind and blood pressure will rise.

Now let me tell you the moon is bright

But don’t try to mess with it

It will win in a fight.

How Do I love Thee? Assisgnment

How Do I love Hockey?

How do I love hockey? Let me list the ways.

I love it to the depth and breadth and height

My goal I can reach, when feeling like a fight

To let me score a goal for the last time before retirement

I love hockey to the level of every day’s

Most quiet need, by ice and puck.

I love skating freely, as men strive for Right;

I love hockey purely, as they turn from a fight.

I love hockey with a passion beyond all else

I love Hockey more than life itself

I love Hockey with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost saints, --- I love Hockey with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my hockey life! --- And, if God choose,

I shall but love Hockey forever.

Passions of Life

Passions of Life

Do people realize what their passions are, or are they just so into their passions that they don't realize it. For me, there are three passions that I'm already doing without realizing it. Art, cooking, and sports.

Art has been my number one passion. When I am drawing, I get lost in it. I feel so relaxed when drawing. Discovering when I loved art was at least elementary school, and yes, to this day I still draw, and paint. This started to lead to designing and architecture. Because I began drawing cities and roads. As I learned through the years, the courses I needed to go into a career for this was right in front of me without realizing it.

Cooking is experiencing the fun with creating dishes of great delicious meals. Everyone needs to make their own meals in life. So I figure learning the great ideas of working with food is one way to make your life just a little bit easier. Not just simple dishes, but humongous dishes.

Sports are everywhere. You can't run away from it. My favorite sports are golf, bowling, and hockey. No I have not gotten a hole in one, but I'm working on it. Bowling I quit, they repainted the gutters green, it was so ugly I had to leave. Finally hockey, just ball hockey, ice I slip.

There are so many passions in life; everyone has different passions for different reasons. Sometimes you already have them without realizing it. If you just take the time to realize it if you want to figure out your passions. You will be successful.
